We also recommend that you read Immoscoop's cookie statement. There you can read what cookies are, which cookies Immoscoop uses, how to change your choice and how Immoscoop protects your privacy.
This privacy statement applies only to Immoscoop's website and not to other websites for which links are provided on this site. If you arrive at another website via a hyperlink, such as an estate agent's website, this privacy statement does not apply to your visit to that website. Nor does this privacy statement apply to information about a property (such as the asking price, land registry information, characteristics and photos of the property) which a property agent offers for publication on the Immoscoop website. Of course, Immoscoop will handle this data with care, and the agreements made between Immoscoop and the property agent will apply. If you have any questions about this, please contact the selling estate agent.

This privacy statement applies to both the use of the website and the Immoscoop mobile application. Personal data collected through the mobile app are processed, protected and stored in the same way as through the website.
The app uses similar technologies (such as cookies and trackers) to offer functionalities, improve the user experience and analyse usage.

Immoscoop processes your personal data for various purposes
Processing personal data
Personal data refers to all information of a personal nature that concerns you, i.e. all information that makes it possible to identify you directly or indirectly as a natural person. When using the website, the user's IP address is automatically recorded. The IP address is temporarily stored in a database. Immoscoop also makes use of 'cookies'. A cookie is a small file stored on the computer's hard disk. You have the option to refuse the placing of certain cookies. See the cookie statement for further info.
The different purposes
Immoscoop uses your personal data only for the purposes listed below.
Research
Immoscoop uses data related to website usage for research purposes. The purpose of this is to improve ease of use and service and to gain insight into the market. Where possible, we use anonymous and/or aggregated data that cannot be traced back to an individual visitor. Immoscoop may also use the data provided by you on the website for quality research in a broad sense and to gain more insight into the market. Furthermore, we use your personal data for statistical purposes (whether or not in cooperation with external partners). We also use this data to improve our website and develop new functionalities and services.
Personalisation
Immoscoop also uses website data to identify your interests. This allows us to give you a personalised experience on our platforms. In addition, your use of the website is tracked (e.g. click behaviour) in accordance with your cookie choices.
Create account
Immoscoop collects your identification data (name, first name, e-mail address) when you create an account. We use and process the data you provide only to allow you to create and manage your account. In your profile, you can also keep track of and adjust your preferences in terms of searches, favourites.
Preventing fraud
IP addresses (and other technical data) are used to detect and combat unauthorised use of the website.
Transfer of personal data to real estate agents
When you express interest in a property via our platforms and fill in a contact form, we may pass on your personal data (such as name, e-mail address, telephone number and any message) to the real estate agent concerned. This is done only at your request and with your consent, so that the estate agent can contact you about the property in question.
The estate agent may only process your personal data in accordance with the purposes for which they were obtained and according to its own obligations under the GDPR.
Performing services
Contact details are used to execute an agreement with Immoscoop. These details are used for providing these services and invoicing. This personal data may be passed on to our collection partner Go Solid for the collection of unpaid invoices.
Data sharing with other platforms
Immoscoop processes and shares personal data for the activation and personalisation of services on other platforms (such as the display of housing search buttons within KBC Mobile and the KBC Live ability to chat with a credit expert). Here, the user's consent is sought to share a set of minimised data to carry out this personalisation.
2.2.8. Applications
When you apply for a position at Immoscoop (e.g. via e-mail or the application form on our website), we process the personal data you provide, such as your name, contact details, CV, motivation letter, diplomas, work experience and any references.
This data is used exclusively to assess your application, contact you and conduct the selection procedure. If you are hired, your data will be included in your personnel file.
The processing takes place on the basis of your consent and/or on the basis of taking pre-contractual measures at your request (Article 6.1 a and b GDPR).
Feasibility Simulation
Immoscoop offers through its platform an integration with KBC to perform a financial feasibility simulation. In this module, you can enter data about your personal and financial situation to calculate whether a home loan is feasible, including a simulation of a personal interest rate. You will receive immediate feedback, even if you are not a customer of KBC.
When you use this simulation, you authorise Immoscoop to pass on your e-mail address or other electronic identifiers (such as IP address or cookie ID) to KBC. This is done solely for the purpose of monitoring and improving the cooperation between KBC and Immoscoop.
KBC is a separate controller in this context. For further processing of your personal data by KBC, please refer to KBC's privacy statement, available at www.kbc.be/en/privacy.
The various legal grounds on which Immoscoop may process your personal data
Immoscoop invokes the following legal grounds for processing these personal data.
Consent (GDPR article 6.1.a)
Immoscoop requests your consent to process your personal data in certain cases. This happens, for example, when we want to put you in contact with a seller or estate agent and ask your permission to transfer your contact details to the seller or estate agent. When you create a profile, you also give us permission to process the necessary data for this purpose.
We also use your consent to process your data when you apply for one of our vacancies
You can withdraw your consent at any time. If you withdraw your consent, we will stop all processing based on this consent unless a legal or regulatory obligation or a judicial or administrative order prevents us from doing so. However, this does not affect the lawfulness of the operations carried out on the basis of the validly given consent before the withdrawal. Please also note that the withdrawal of consent may mean that you will no longer be able to use some or all of certain services on our platforms.
Legitimate interest (GDPR article 6.1.f)
Immoscoop may process personal data if this is necessary to pursue its legitimate interests. They are motivated by the necessity to function as a company and to enable the development of new initiatives and their offer to customers. In doing so, Immoscoop takes care to minimise the impact on your privacy and, in any case, not to disturb the balance between Immoscoop's legitimate interests and the impact on your privacy. For example, we may send you emails with updates in line with information or actions previously requested by you on the platform.
Data sharing via data clean room
In certain cases, we share personal data with carefully selected partners through a so-called data clean room principle. This is a secure environment in which parties can compare or combine their data in a controlled manner, without sharing the underlying personal data directly with each other.
The data processed in this context are analysed in a way that maximises the privacy of data subjects. Examples include matching target groups for marketing campaigns or obtaining shared insights.
We base this processing on our legitimate interest, which is to improve our services and gain insights that help us better respond to our customers' needs. In any processing, we balance our interests against your rights as a data subject and take appropriate measures to ensure your privacy, such as pseudonymisation, minimal data entry and access control.
You always have the right to object to such processing on the basis of legitimate interest (see "your privacy rights" below).
Should you nevertheless object to such processing, you can exercise your right to object. Immoscoop will always respect this opposition unless there are compelling reasons not to do so.
Legal obligation (GDPR article 6.1.c)
The processing of personal data may be necessary in the context of a legal obligation with which Immoscoop must comply.
Execution of an agreement (GDPR article 6.1.b)
When necessary for the performance of an agreement (such as using the options to create an ad), we may also process personal data.
Retention periods
Personal data retention periods are an important element within privacy legislation (GDPR). The basic principle is that personal data should not be kept longer than necessary for the purpose of processing. The length of time your personal data are kept depends, among other things, on the type of personal data. In any case, they are never kept longer than the time necessary to achieve the purpose of processing. After the expiry of the period in which the data are kept, Immoscoop will therefore delete your data.
Your privacy rights
When your data is processed, you have a lot of rights.
Right of inspection
If you would like to access the data Immoscoop processes about you, please let us know. You have the right to request access to all your personal data processed by us. To grant this request, you must declare which personal data you wish to receive. If you exercise your right of access, Immoscoop will provide you with as complete an overview of your data as possible.
Right of rectification
It may happen that certain data that Immoscoop has stored about you are not (no longer) correct. You can always ask to have these data corrected or completed. If you have registered, you can correct many of these details yourself via your profile.
Right to erasure
You may ask Immoscoop to delete your personal data. If Immoscoop no longer has a compelling reason for processing your personal data, we will delete it. However, a legal obligation may possibly prevent the deletion.
Right of opposition
If you disagree with the way Immoscoop processes certain data on the basis of legitimate interest, you can oppose it. We will comply with your objection, unless there are compelling reasons not to do so. Of course, you can also always oppose specific processing of personal data.
Automatic profiling
No automated decision-making is applied that has legal consequences or significantly affects you, as referred to in Article 22 GDPR. However, Immoscoop may use anonymised or pseudonymised data to personalise the experience on the website or to tailor certain offers to your interests.
Exercising your rights
If you would like to make a request to exercise one or more of the rights listed above, simply send an email to support@immoscoop.be. Always be as specific as possible in what you want. This will allow Immoscoop to handle your request concretely and correctly. Immoscoop must be able to verify your identity to prevent someone else from exercising your rights. If necessary, Immoscoop may request a copy of your identity card for this identification.
Where your data is processed
Your personal data is hosted on servers at Amazon in Europe. These are monitored, configured and regularly updated to avoid following risks as much as possible:
- the unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
- the inappropriate use or disclosure of your data
- unlawful destruction or accidental loss of your data
For transfers to partners outside the European Economic Area (EEA), such as to the US, Immoscoop only uses parties certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or based on other appropriate safeguards in accordance with the AVG.
Subsequent data transfers with organisations outside the EEA may occur, for which we always provide the necessary legal safeguards:
- Amazon - Data Privacy Framework
- Microsoft - Data Privacy Framework
- Google - Data Privacy Framework
- Active Campaign - Data Privacy Framework
- Meta - Data Privacy Framework
- Sendgrid - Data Privacy Framework
Third parties
In the context of pursuing all or part of the purposes mentioned in point 3, Immoscoop may transfer your personal data to third parties. These third parties may be companies or natural persons. For example, they may be IT service providers for website maintenance, collection agencies or consultants... Immoscoop selects these third parties with the greatest care.
Furthermore, Immoscoop does not provide personal data to third parties, unless it is obliged to do so on the basis of a legal provision or a court or supervisory authority ruling, or if this is necessary in the interests of preventing, detecting or prosecuting criminal offences (such as fraud, deceit or fraud) or if you have given your consent.
